The Sardar Sarovar (Narmada) Project is a multipurpose River
Valley Project on the West flowing river Narmada in Gujarat
State located along the West Coast of India. The project is
expected to provide irrigation benefits to a gross area of
about 3.5 million hectares, generate about 950 MW Hydro
Power at 60 percent load factor and provide partial flood
control. The project envisages construction of a 1210 mtr.
long and 125 mtr. High concrete gravity dam.
Ansal awarded Narmada Main Canal Project for the reach is
Km. 0.00 to 8.809 and Km. 8.809 to 21.415 mainly comprises
removal of earth / rock and utilizing the excavated stuff
for completing embankment work and in-situ concrete lining
for the main canal. The major item for this huge canal Bed
width of 73.00 mtr. and the side slopes are 20 mtr. each
side comprises the following:
Trimming of Canal Section, CC Lining (10 cm. thick) and CC
Lining (12.5 cm. thick), Reinforcement and RCC work for
bridges across the canal.
